How to Install/Setup/Use Hamachi

Hamachi Information
Network name: sc2gg.com
Network password: combat

Network name 2: sc2gg.com2
Network password 2: combat

So on so forth, with additional numbers.

* Please do not join more than 1 network so that we can provide for all our members.

1. Go to https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp and click on the "Download" button for your Operating System.

2. Run the installation file and click on the "Next" button.

3. Agree to the license agreement and click on the "Next" button.

4. Check or un-check whatever you want to do for the two settings and click "Next".

5. Check off the box shown for security reasons and click "Next".

6. Mark the "Use Hamachi Basic. Our core, free of charge version." and click "Next".

7. Click "Install".

8. Once the installation is finished click "Next".

9. Click "Finish" and Hamachi should automatically start up.

10. On Hamachi click on the circle to the very bottom right and click on "Preferences". Here you should be able to create you nickname that you wish to use if you haven't done so already.

11. Go to http://www.r1ch.net/stuff/forcebindip/down...P-1.2-Setup.exe and download the "Force Bind IP" installer and run it. When the installation comes up click on "I Agree".

11. Once the installation is complete click "Close".

12. Next RIGHT-CLICK on your desktop and select "Create new shortcut".

13. Click on "Browse" and find/select your "Starcraft.exe" file (In my case it's located at "C:\Custom Files\Starcraft\StarCraft.exe").

14. Go to the BEGINNING of the textbox and type in "forcebindip 5.x.x.x" where the x's are from your Hamachi IP. Click "Next".

15. Type whatever you want the shortcut name to be and click "Finish".

16. Now the NEW shortcut you just created will ONLY let you play on "UDP" and will NOT let you onto other servers. This also works the other way around, so if you don't use the new shortcut you just made you won't be able to see the "UDP" games that people on your Hamachi network create but you can play on b.net and iCCup.

17. Once that is done click on the 2nd circle from the bottom right of Hamachi and click on "Join an existing network".

18. Enter the "Network name" and "Network password" and click "Join".

19. Once in the network you will see a list of people in the same network. You can right-click on a persons name and chat with them or ping them or whatever you want to do. Mainly this is for the chat feature though.

Wow, the matches haven't even started and already we're witnessing an epic battle of pre-game tactics.

Peanut opens with a risky 9-probe-into-false-modesty build that's designed to lure Radivel into a false sense of security. But Rad scouts it early and counters with a perfect if-it-looks-like-you're-winning-I-might-grab-my-PC-and-throw-it-out-the-window, also known as the "one factory into fake system crash" build. His vast experience in high-pressure situations is really showing today.

We do supposedly have a 256 person limit. This needs to be looked at, or figured out why it doesn't do what it is supposed to do :/

Also very annoying that noone can ever see me on Hamachi, but I can see everyone else. What's up with that? :/

Can't do anything now though, am at work.

any explanation as to why this is the case?

Edit: when you click to see details when hamachi denies you access, it says each network can only have 16 free members. has the new hamachi not kicked in yet?

then i'm going to look like an even more super idiot for this: when i am connected to the right network on hamachi (i can see other people there, etc.), how do i find games? i assumed they would show up as LAN because i didn't add another server to the b.net thingy, but there aren't any there. i'm using a mac if that complicates things at all.

I wondered the same thing when I first installed it, not a stupid question at all imo. The games are played over LAN (udp). Normally you need to get onto mirc, vent, or shoutbox and find someone to play before starting a game up. Occasionally there can be problems seeing a game hosted over hamachi, but why that is I don't know. tongue.gif

Does this application exist or is it necessary for Mac? I googled about and couldn't seem to come up with anything.

EDIT: Scratch that. Does anyone here use Hamachi on Mac OS who can explain how to make it work for me?

Somehow I am feeling laggy games over Hamachi lately. Not sure if it's the ports in my router or it is just me lagging? Am I suppose to port forward any ports for Hamachi or SC ?

The problem is that the installer for OS 10.4 is technical and complicated, not a simple drag and drop like others. I have to install it using Terminal, and it won't let me install it without "superuser privileges". That means I have to log in as "root", which is disabled on personal computers (I would have no problem if it was a server, not that I've ever used a root account to do evil things to a server). Point is, it doesn't work for me, and the other program I downloaded (HamachiX) connects to the network such that I can see everyone else, but I can't get in any games and it has no chat function. This sucks.

EDIT: Disregard all of this, I figured it out and it works.
